Using ArcView the built-up areas containing medium size town centres were selected and coded with a value, these are displayed as black areas in the map above.Source=Bartholomew data
Comments
In Great Britain this layer looks very useful but as I take a second look across the rest of the EU the information could be confusing. It is probably worth combining these built-up location layers and creating some new urban layers which relate to the functional urban hierarchy.
