Ethnicity and Development: Comparative Case Studies of local Governments Institutions in Indonesia

Project overview

Why do the local governments perform well, when the others perform badly in the issue of development such as poverty, the lack of human development and environment ? This research proposal will find the impact that migration and ethnicity in developing inclusive institutions in Indonesia as a basic requirement for better economic output and sustainable environment.

Aims/objectives

The main objective of this research is to explore ethnic relations role in developing political and economic institution in local governance, and the impact of institutions to  both development  and environment.  Furthermore, the research contributes to scholarly significant debates over among geographical perspective, neoliberal perspective and institutions perspective in finding what factor make government perform well in development issues.
