Assignment 1

This assignment is an online portfolio of the practical work. You may build the portfolio anywhere, but we recommend GitHub (practical). The portfolio should consist of the final agent-based model practical work, plus any additional stages towards that final work you wish to keep. The practicals include suggestions for additional work on the model. You are welcome to do these: essentially a good presentation of the final model can gain good marks, but additional elements will help smooth over weaknesses. In this regard, you are welcome to enhance the code with original material, though this is not necessarily needed for work of distinction.

The portfolio should comprise a website of one or more pages. It is suggested that you might like to include biographical material explaining who you are, but please feel free to use a pseudonym if you would like to maintain anonymity. The Web content should: include some details of the model; a link to the code; and, include some hand-coded HTML or markdown. It may also include other elements as you like. The idea is that this is the start of an online portfolio you may ultimately wish to use as your public face as a coder or in wider engagements. You are therefore welcome to link to additional work or materials, though the amount of detail is not what is being assessed. The key thing for the assessment is the quality of the Web site code.

The specific Assignment 1 Marking Scheme applies. Please refer to this for details of the assessment.

Please note that we take plagiarism and the subcontracting of code extremely seriously. Please read the guidelines. You are welcome to use code automatically created by GitHub or other web templating systems for your website, but you should make it clear if you have done so. Please note that any automatically generated code will not count towards your mark, and therefore you should include hand-crafted HTML/markdown in your website to gain the marks for this component. If using an automatically generated template, please comment your own code to highlight what is yours.

Submission of the project should be by uploading the URL in a text file to Minerva . An appropriate upload area can be found in the "Submit My Work" section.
