Research overview

Cheng is an environmental economist with expertise in non-market valuation (Contingent Valuation and Choice Experiment). His PhD research focused on the establishment of Payment for Ecosystem Services mechanism for the South-to-North Water Transfer Project in China. Before joininig the School of Geography, Cheng has worked in multiple research projects on diverse topics, including Costs and benefits of sustainable soil fertility management in Western KenyaLand of the MUSCos: Multi-Utility Service Companies and Mapping Climate Services and Information Needs in China. Cheng's current research focuses on valuating the visual impact of wind turbines.
