Building high altitude drones for field sampling and surveying:

Tim Squires, Equal Experts Space Agency and Crystalmark Aerial Photography

This workshop will focus on building and programming high altitude fixed wing drones. You'll see ongoing work in this area, and be given an introduction to building drones and programming navigation and sensors. The workshop will cover 3D scans, autonomous large area surveys, emergency procedures and recovery. There will also be an introduction to some of the legal issues associated with flying in the UK.

The workshop will be run by Tim Squires of Crystalmark Aerial Photography, with the support of Equal Experts, a company with a local base who are developing high altitude balloon and fixed-wing surveying techniques, the latter centred on cheap drone bases and open source software.
