BOGGLE HOLE

All BSc, Geog-Geol and Geography BSc Joint Honours first year students are invited to attend a welcome weekend in Boggle Hole within the first few weekends of the first semester. Boggle Hole occupies a picturesque location on the east coast just south of Robin Hood’s Bay.  You will spend the weekend with your fellow year group and your tutors and hopefully return to Leeds after the trip knowing your fellow tutees a little more and with a  fossil or two! The main focus of the trip is on you getting to know your classmates and being introduced to what Geography@Leeds is all about.

During the weekend you will partake in activities that are designed to both let you get to know your classmates but also to understand a little more about the geography of the region, the processes that have formed it and the time periods these processes have been active over.  We will explore the surrounding area and record some geographical data to allow us to interpret our surroundings.

We stay in a lovely little youth hostel that is believed to be occupied by Boggles! All your food, bedding and transport will be provided and you will wake up to a view of the sea in one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the UK.
