University of Leeds ranks 8th for student experience in the UK

The University of Leeds has been named as one of the best places to be a student in the UK.

Published this week, the Student Experience Survey, compiled by Times Higher Education, ranks the University of Leeds eight in the country. The University scored an overall score of 81.37, just two places below Oxford, who came sixth (82.55), and four places behind Cambridge (83.17) who ranked fourth position in the table.

The survey gathered the views of more than 13,000 undergraduates on 21 aspects of university life – from quality of teaching and facilities to social life and student support. This is the second year running that Leeds University has ranked in the top ten for its student experience, amongst intense competition, and is a gratifying reflection on the quality of teaching facilities on offer and the dedication and commitment of staff.

This news follows the recent success of The University of Leeds rising 14 places to number 85 in the QS World University Rankings 2010, taking Leeds to 34th place in Europe, and demonstrates consistent levels of improvement across the board. The QS table is a highly respected and key independent indicator of institutional performance and reputation. Our performance in this table, reiterates our strategic vision of securing a place among the top 50 universities in the world by 2015.
