Frank Parkinson Scholarship

For full-time PhD study commencing 1 October 2017
Closing Date:  1 June 2017 (17.00 UK time)

The Frank Parkinson Scholarship was established in 1936. The fund was bequeathed by Mr Frank Parkinson who was a former student and Baines Scholar of the University of Leeds. the Scholarship is open to applicants in any research area however beneficiaries under the Fund must be born of British parents who have been domiciled in Yorkshire for a period of not less than ten years.  The years of domicile need not be successive, but must amount to ten in the aggregate. Successful candidates will be required to supply proof of eligibility in respect of British nationality and the Yorkshire domicile of parents once the awards have been announced.

Frank Stell Scholarship

For full-time PhD study commencing 1 October 2017
Closing Date:  1 June 2017 (17.00 UK time)

The Frank Stell Scholarship was established in 1959. The fund was bequeathed by Frank Stell of Halifax to
provide scholarships tenable at the University of Leeds for the study of Biology, Agricultural Science or Social and Political Science.

Beneficiaries of the awards must be resident or have a parent or parent’s resident within the former administrative area of the County Council of the West Riding of Yorkshire. (‘Resident’ usually means having lived in the area for three years immediately prior to application, but please note that living in an area whilst studying does not constitute residence under the terms of this Scholarship). Successful candidates will be required to supply proof of eligibility in respect of own residency/parent(s)’ residency once the awards have been announced.
