How to Apply

Scholarships and funding

University scholarships

You will need to obtain funding to cover the cost of your fees and your living expenses. You may also need to cover the cost of any research expenses such as fieldwork or laboratory costs if your funding does not include these. If you have any questions please contact the Taught Postgraduate Admissions Officer

The total value of University scholarships at Leeds is nearly £10 million and there are opportunities available to International, UK and EU students. Every year the University offers up to 18 full fee university research scholarships to exceptional PhD applicants from the UK/EU.

School of Geography scholarships

Each year, the School of Geography offers a number of partial fee scholarships for Master students. These scholarships are designed to provide exceptional opportunities to students of outstanding ability, achievement and potential. Please read the terms and conditions before applying.

Alumni bursary

As an alumnus of the University you may be eligible for a 10% reduction to your tuition fee (applied after deducting any scholarships or other bursaries received). Please read the terms and conditions and send an email to geo-tpg-enq(at) to indicate that you have read the terms and conditions and are eligible to receive the bursary based on the criteria outlined.
