Scholarships 2018-19

We offer a number of scholarship opportunities to support and reward students from around the world. If you are a UK student you may be able to receive government support to help towards your tuition fees and living costs. 

Masters - International

School of Geography International Excellence Scholarship

Summary: This scholarship is for you if you’re an internationally rated applicant who has been offered a place on any masters degree course within the School of Geography (except MSc in Consumer Analytics and Marketing Strategy and MSc in GIS via Online Distance Learning). You must also meet the academic criteria listed below.
Value: £5,000
Who is eligible: Any international applicant who has been offered a place on any of the masters degree courses in the School of Geography (except MSc in Consumer Analytics and Marketing Strategy and MSc in GIS via Online Distance Learning), and who demonstrates academic excellence (2.1+ or equivalent), professional experience and/or voluntary experience.
How to apply: Complete an application form, to be confirmed.
Deadline: 31 May 2018.
Conditions: You must be self-funding, full or part time, classified as international for tuition fee purposes and not in receipt of any other School of Geography award.
How is the scholarship awarded? You must complete the application form. The scholarship will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.

Internal or External: Internal (funded by the University of Leeds)

Masters - International

School of Geography International Development Scholarship

Summary: This scholarship is for you if you’re an internationally rated applicant who has been offered a place on any masters degree course within the School of Geography (except MSc in Consumer Analytics and Marketing Strategy and MSc in GIS via Online Distance Learning). You must also meet the academic criteria listed below.
Value: £5,000
Who is eligible: Any international applicant who has been offered a place on any of the masters degree courses in the School of Geography (except MSc in Consumer Analytics and Marketing Strategy and MSc in GIS via Online Distance Learning), and who demonstrates academic excellence (2.1+ or equivalent), professional experience and/or voluntary experience.
How to apply: Complete an application form, to be confirmed.
Deadline: 31 May 2018.
Conditions: You must be self-funding, full or part time, classified as international for tuition fee purposes and a national and resident of a country listed here: https://www.wto.org/english/thewto_e/whatis_e/tif_e/org7_e.htm. You must not be in receipt of any other School of Geography award. (All programmes except MSc in Consumer Analytics and Marketing Strategy and MSc in GIS via Online Distance Learning)

Masters - All

Alumni Bursary

Summary: This bursary is for you if you’re a former student of the University of Leeds studying for a postgraduate qualification in the Faculty of Engineering. Courses that are run in conjunction with other universities are excluded from the Bursary.
Value: The University will pay 10% of the self-funded portion of your fees for each year of the course. If no fees are paid then no bursary is awarded.
Who is eligible: This is an automatic bursary but you have to inform us and provide evidence that you’re a former student of the University of Leeds.
How to apply: If you think you’re eligible, you need to contact the relevant admissions team for the course you have applied for.
Deadline: No deadline – automatic.
Conditions: You must be a former University of Leeds student.
