Towards a New Urban Deal?
International Network on Uneven Local Responses to the Global Recession Funded by the Leverhulme Trust
This is a 2 year international network funded by the Leverhulme Trust to explore the economic recession as a source of new governmental rationalities and associated socio-spatial change at the city-regional scale across Europe. It will be hosted by the School of Geography, University of Leeds (Principal Investigator Sara Gonzalez) and involve colleagues from Catholic University of Leuven (Stijn Oosterlynck), Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Ramon Ribera Fumaz), University of Cagliari (Ugo Rossi) and Aberystwyth University (Martin Jones). It will fund workshops and fieldtrip visits where researchers will study four case studies (Leeds, Barcelona, Brussels and Cagliari) to develop a comparative methodology along the lines of a Cultural political Economy theoretical framework.
