The objective of this research was to apply a set of regional indicators, initially developed within the MEDALUS III project, to the interpretation of land cover and other variables obtained from remotely sensed imagery, in terms of current desertification and its sensitivity future change. This is an integral part of pre-operational planning tool for the assessment of desertification at regional scales for the whole Mediterranean area.
