Summary

This page represents a variety of projects supported by Yorkshire Water.

In particular it has in recent years supported the examination and understanding of manganese dynamics on catchments (manganese is the cause of a large number of raw water and tap water failures) this understanding of manganese dynamics allowed manganese to be one of the characteristics modelled in the integrated catchment planning projects.

Currently the most important projects funded through this source are examining the complex effects of water conservation strategies at a variety of locations and is identifying the influence of conservation relative to other short term controls on water demand.
