GEM can work with three types of geographical coverage

• GIS based map coverages in the traditional sense

  • e.g. geology maps

• Pseudo coverages created to provide contextual effects

  • e.g. categorical unemployment within 5km of each point

• Non spatial Multivariate classification of the data

  • e.g. geodemographic class of each point
