RESEARCH OVERVIEW
Dr Rachael Unsworth's research interests focus on urban environments and processes of change, with particular interest in the following areas: how settlement development is related to social, cultural, economic, technological and political change; the role of urban planning and management and of property markets in shaping the urban landscape - past, present and future; changing approaches to managing urban environments - integration of social, economic and environmental issues, including climate change and resource constraints; citizen participation in urban change; sustainable communities.
Special focus on the development of Leeds, particularly city living, the office sector, cultural policy and activities, urban design/place making, inner city development; Leeds in the city region.
