RESEARCH OVERVIEW

My research focuses on the production of new long, high resolution pollen records in lake and deep ocean sediment sequences and linking them with marine and ice cores in order to explore the sensitivity of vegetation to different sources of climate forcing.Currently, in collaboration with colleagues in tropical ecology we are working on ways of using palaeoecological approaches to extend records of rainforest composition and dynamics into the distant past in order to contribute to explanations of current trajectories of forest change.
