My main interests involve the study of hillslope hydrology, wetland environments and catchment management. Current work focuses on upland management, peatland hydrology and carbon cycling, water colour, land drainage, soil piping, climate change and flooding. I currently have £6 million of active grants on which I am a named investigator. My personal components to these live projects are worth c. £800,000.
I am a Chartered Geographer, Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and Trustee of the British Society for Geomorphology.
