RESEARCH OVERVIEW
I seek to understand the processes associated with the hydrology and carbon dynamics of peatlands under environmental change.
I am Director of Research. I am also Director of water@leeds.
My main interests involve the study of hillslope hydrology, wetland environments and catchment management. Current work focuses on upland management, peatland hydrology and carbon cycling, water colour, land drainage, soil piping, climate change and flooding. I currently have £6 million of active grants on which I am a named investigator. My personal components to these live projects are worth c. £1.3 million.

I am a Chartered Geographer, Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Trustee of the British Society for Geomorphology and Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society.
CURRENT PROJECTS
I am currently working on 13 funded research grants with funding souces including EU, NERC, TSB, ESRC, Leverhulme Trust, Esmee Fairburn Trust, Defra, Yorkshire Water and Environment Agency.
