This is a record of a telecon held today between 1400 and 1445. Present: Andy Turner (AT), Keith Cole (KC), Lihao Liang (LL), Michael Koutrompas (MK), Gail Millin (GM), Pascal Ekin, Chris Higgins (CH), Paul Townend (PT), Kamie Kitmotto (KK), John Watt (JW) Apologies: , Ally Hume (AH), David Rawnsley (DR), Paul Townend (PT) CH reported on security meeting held at EDINA on Thurs 5th Apr. The mins from this meeting have already been circulated. To summarise; JW, AH and Fiona Culloch are writing up from their perspective in next few days and CH and Richard Sinnott will attempt synthesis with recommendations for the IE. Important to not forget that security is the central concern of the SEE-GEO project. KC raised again the need to remain cognisant of related projects. CH agrees and briefed the team on the actions that resulted from KC sending info on the Shintau project. Action: ALL. Please bring to CHs attention any developments in related projects which they think might impact on SEE-GEO. Michael briefed on progress with the GLS. Essentially, the GLS is completed - although we anticipate that more work will be required once we can test against live statistical data. Some work required on the proxy GLS - this is the component that sits between the GLS client and GLS/OGSA-DAI, work to accomodate the refactoring of the GLS spec as a profile of WPS (see twiki for details). CH raised for discussion the observation that viewing OGSA-DAI as a WPS may have consequences for GEMS. Similarly, having implemented the GLS in OGSA-DAI opens up easily achieved additional possibilities using other O/D activities, eg, using xslt tranformer to process GDAS o/p, or delivery through GridFTP. Action: All. Ensure using same versions of specs. Gail reported on behalf of MIMAS. DR has started the action "extract and provide sample data marked up in XML according to the GDAS xsd". Intention is to complete this task this week. PE/GM have been attempting to get hold of the open source GDAS software and have a commitment from Brian Low (NFIS) that it will be available soon (no firm date). MK stressed that getting hold of real statistical data was getting critical. KC replied that MIMAS would make data available first thing tomorrow. Action: GM to keep CH informed of progress Action: CH to discuss open source GDAS software with Peter Schut/Brian Low next week Action: KC to get some data to MK AT reported on progress with the GLS client. PT has made some progress based on the work Nottingham (Hongliang Li) has done. The intention is that PT will make this available to all. An updated and more detailed version of the MoSeS-NCeSS e-Infrastructure Use Case has been created on ATs website. CH reiterated that it would be good if the client could make use of the EDINA GLS capability to generate both raw data (GML with added attributes) and images (note that an SLD need to be passed in to achieve the required styling). Action: AT to inform all once he thinks the Use Case has reached a point where he wants feedback. CH reported that a first draft of the Consortium Agreement has been written. Action: CH to modify the CA where necessary and circulate to main institution points of contact for review. CH reported that he would (personal circumstances allowing) be attending the TC in Ottawa next week. Three items emerged from this telecon: - Attend Geolinkie ad hoc and talk to Hongliang about access to code. - Ask Brian Low if in attendance about the GDAS software - Talk to Safe Software and see if can negotiate access to their WFS and GDAS to test our GLS. CH requested that if anybody else had/has anything they want investigate or reported back on that they ask him. Next meeting: 1400 Fri 20th April. Action: AH to organise.
