The comma seperated version files it contains are comma separated data with the following fields:

Postcode, Sale Date (DD/MM/YYYY), Price (in pounds), Type (e.g. Semi, Ter.), Tenure (F,L), New Build (Yes or No), Address.

It can be assumed that Tenure F means Freehold, L means Leasehold.

Data were scraped from http://www.houseprices.co.uk in 2007-06 by Andy Turner (http://www.geog.leeds.ac.uk/people/a.turner/). 

Java source code of a programme written to scrape the data and format the output is open source and licensed under the LGPL and available via the following URL:
