Humanitarian Web Mapping

Tips

Once you start contributing, you'll need to put the system into editing mode by picking an editor from the button-list on the left.

When editing, turning the OSM data on and off helps to see what other people think features look like – this is especially helpful with buildings, where it is hard to judge scale. To do this, go to the icon on the right of the iD editor that looks like a line plus a flower, and expand "map features". Here you can tick/untick the features to show/hide them.

If you want to change something you've edited in the past, but can't remember where it was, click "Save" which will bring up a list of all the edits you've made. Select the edit from the list to see it, and then use the shut window "x" icon on the Save panel to shut the panel without saving. You'll then be able to edit the feature.

Note that when you save in the tasking manager, the source is automatically recorded – you don't need to specify it.

When you've finished, remember to go back to the tasking manager page and unlock the task.
