Job Summary

Fixed term, 14 months maternity cover

The School of Geography is a leading international research department, one of the top-ranked in the UK. We seek to appoint an excellent human geographer whose teaching interests will complement the work of its Centre for Spatial Analysis & Policy (CSAP).

Your main focus will be the delivery of modules and learning support on the MSc in GIS and the MSc in GIS via Online Distance Learning (ODL), principally on modules in web-based GIS and geocomputation. You will also be required to contribute to teaching and support of other modules on the two taught postgraduate GIS programmes, as well as undergraduate GIS modules, dependent upon your knowledge and expertise. You will have strong computer programming and GIS technical skills. Other responsibilities will include providing dissertation supervision (undergraduate and taught postgraduate). Our ODL MSc programme requires online support provided by tutors through discussion forums, email and telephone/VOIP.

You will have, or be close to achieving, a PhD in Geography or a related discipline, and have experience of teaching and research that complements the work of the CSAP cluster.
